Recron® Duratarp is a range of high and super high tenacity polyester staple fibres including dope dyed regular and flame retardant [FR] variants specially made for manufacturing tarpaulin, tent and awnings. It overcomes the various disadvantages of such products that are made from natural fibres like cotton etc and offers superior properties along with a significant cost advantage. In fact, tarpaulin made from Recron® Duratarp is so advanced, you'll refuse to call it Tarpaulin.
Applications

Water Proofing

The tarpaulin and tent manufacturing industry, which normally uses natural fibres, is more familiar with the wax based water-proofing chemicals at a lower temperature. Reliance has developed a unique water-proofing recipe and processes both at high and low temperatures. Depending on the hardware available with the manufacturing setup, one can adopt these processes.

In high temperature process, fixing and curing of chemicals are carried out on a stenter at 170-190^oC. Whereas, in low temperature process, the treatment is done at 105-110^oC in conventional hardware. Water-proofing recipe and a flame retardant fabric process have also been developed.
