Recron® Industrial Yarns (IDY)
Reliance started the production of polyester high tenacity yarn to capture the fast growing technical texitiles market in India. Commissioned in November 2008, the annual production capacity currently is 6 KT. Reliance is now expanding its production by additional 27KTA. Plant is expected to start production by 2015. The product range includes:
  • Super High Tenacity Yarns
  • Adhesive Activated Yarns
  • Low Shrinkage Yarns
  • HMLS Yarn (Post Expantion)
Super High Tenacity Yarns
High Tenacity (HT) Yarns are required in a variety of industrial applications such as:
  • Conveyor Belts
  • Ropes
  • Geo-Grids
  • Lashings / Slings
  • Automotive Seat Belt
  • Industrial Fabrics
Product Range
Present product denier range is from 250D - 3000D. Post expansion, we will also offer 4000D and 6000 D.
Super High Tenacity yarns with gpd > 9.0 are available with the following benefits:

  • Superior Creep Performance
  • Exceptional Durability
  • High Strength-to-Weight Ratios
  • Abrasion Resistance
Adhesive Activated Yarns
Activated yarns used for rubber coating application such as Conveyor Belts & Transmission Belts are also available. They are equivalent to super high Tenacity yarns.
Benefits: Excellent rubber adhesion for Mechanized Rubber Goods (MRG)

Low Shrinkage Yarns
Reliance supplies a host of products for Low Shrinkage applications. The product denier range is from 250 D.
The Hot Air Shrinkage (HAS) for LS products is in the range of 3-4% at 1900C, 5 mins, 0.01 gpd with Tenacity and Elongation parameters consistent with international standards. We are flexible enough to cater to any special needs that our customer might have with regards to the specifications.
